The Disabled Workers Co-operative

Video

Although there are many photographs of my work on this site, I am aware that moving images of my dance tell a much stronger story. I have therefore decided to put up some very short clips of video. If you decide to download these, please be patient - video produces large files and these can take up to 25 seconds to load on a 1Mb broadband connection, considerably longer on Dial-up.

This is an alternative version of the short film made by Andy Taylor Smith, showing some of my Light Graffiti work. The music on this is my own composition.

Here is the full version of my recent Dance/Drama film,"Scenes in a Mirror", starring myself and Laura Haughey and made in collaboration with Bill Hopkinson. I hope you enjoy it!

This is a short clip from the final performance on 16th July of the Knotty Ash Project.

The next three clips are in .wmv format which should play automatically in Windows Media Player™. To get the latest version, click on the button below:

Alan and Emily Grainger performing "You and Me" at Moving on Merseyside 2005

This is another version of "This Chair...", filmed at Pyramids Arts Centre Warrington in October 2007. Produced in collaboration with Drake Music Project.

In 2008, I worked with a group of young people from Manchester, as part of the "We Make Manchester" Project. The group, who called themselves DanceForce, performed their piece "United - City" at Urbis on 13th July 2008.

In 2000/2001, with funding from a Millennium Award, I created and produced a theatre dance performance called "Cosmic Celebrations". I choreographed a group of friends, wrote all the music, designed costumes, did the lighting plan and produced the whole show. I have now got around to digitising the original video and the three parts are below. Enjoy!

As part of their Teenage Project, 1Voice helped the teenagers to produce a DVD. You can find out more about the project, the DVD and how you can help 1Voice by watching the video above.
